    RISE is looking for a motivated and compassionate Program Manager to manage our Restorative Healing Youth Cohort group.

    About RISE: Resilient In Sustaining Empowerment (RISE) provides a haven for healing, resilience, and a brighter future for marginalized communities directly impacted by gun violence. We prioritize the well-being of BIPOC children, caregivers, and families; offering healing opportunities in small group settings. RISE provides tools to assist in trauma recovery, healing-centered engagement, positive identity, professional development, and grief support. RISE primarily serves King County communities.

    Job Purpose: The youth healing workshop series, also known as Restorative Healing and often referred to as the RISE Youth Cohort Group is a closed support group offered to youth from marginalized communities impacted by gun violence. There are three 8-week workshops made up of three youth cohorts each year. Participants will attend all three cohorts. While the workshop series will vary slightly and will be adjusted based on participant feedback, each workshop session is led by a contracted professional and each session relates to one of the 10 pillars of RISE.

    Duty and Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the RISE youth cohort, including in-person facilitation of weekly workshops with local youth
    • Engage and build rapport with youth and their families referred to the cohort
    • Provide information to families about supports that address their needs, goals, and barriers
    • Exercise good judgment, maintain healthy boundaries, and follow all RISE policies to keep participants, volunteers, facilitators, and staff safe
    • Recruit and Manage partnerships with contractors, vendors, and volunteers; including interviewing and onboardFind, build, maintain, and engage with relevant and strategic partnerships and resources
    • Connect families to support and resources
    • Suggest culturally responsive resources for children and their families
    • Ensure participants have access to gift cards for transportation services as needed
    • Respond to families’ inquiries promptly
    • Oversee all finances pertaining to the workshop series, including administration of weekly stipend payments, payments to practitioners, and purchasing supplies and materials.
    • Work closely with the Finance Team to ensure compliance with fiscal policy and RISE’s budget.
    • Oversee program-related grant reporting, which includes contract registration and timely submission of grant reports.
    • Collaborate with capacity-building consultants and other external partners and supports; including attending all grantee-related trainings, professional development or learning exchanges, and other meetings as required
    • Oversee all data collection and tracking for the program, including intake and enrollment, participant attendance in events and activities
    • Oversee quality assurance for the program including conflict management, grievances, stakeholder feedback surveys, and assessments
    • Other duties, responsibilities and relevant projects as assigned and appropriate
    • Attend and participate in all RISE meetings, trainings, and other opportunities for professional development and growth
    • Collaborate with peer Program Managers to meet the needs of the families and support the success of the cohorts
    • Support fundraising initiatives and event planning
    • Plan events and activities for RISE families and community members; including holiday celebrations and other community outreach events
    • Attend community events to represent RISE and support RISE partners

    Desired Qualifications: 

    • Minimum three years of experience working in some combination of the following areas: program coordinator or program manager in a nonprofit organization, community organizing, social services etc. Relevant college degrees can be substituted for some portion of your experience.
    • Substantive administrative and/or non-profit management experience
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and management skills
    • A demonstrated record of leadership and success in administration and/or nonprofit management
    • A strong commitment to the needs of RISE’s communities
    • High level of comfort using MS Office software, Google services such as Drive, Sheets and Docs, Zoom grants, and Gusto
    • Professional or personal experience working with children and families who have been impacted by gun violence
    • Trauma-informed care training and practical experience

    Working Conditions: This position is required to work some weekend days, attend after-hours events, and be available for consultation when needed. In addition, this position may be called upon and must be capable of compassionate de-escalation and crisis intervention involving youth working through trauma.

    Compensation and Benefits: The salary range for this role is $50-60k annually and is commensurate with experience. After a successful 6-month probationary period, you will be eligible for limited medical benefits. Additionally, you are entitled to 10 holidays annually.

    Work Schedule: This is a full-time position. Working hours are between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday requires flexibility specifically when the workshop is hosted which is usually held in the evenings, and when community events are held. During probation, you are required to work in the office at our Burien, WA location. After probation, this may become a hybrid position with the ability to work from home for a portion of the week.
